What does the lawn fertilization schedule look like?
When you enroll in our lawn fertilization program, you can expect seven visits from early spring through fall to administer our treatments. During each visit, a nutrient-rich fertilizer is carefully applied across your lawn to nurture its health and vitality. This service also encompasses comprehensive weed control and grub control treatments, effectively eliminating unwanted growth while protecting your turf from root-feeding grubs. Our lawn fertilization schedule looks like this:
- Step 1 (Early March - Mid-April): During the first visit, we will apply a nitrogen-rich fertilizer treatment to your lawn to help it wake up from winter dormancy and stimulate healthy growth. We will also administer a weed control treatment specifically designed to keep crabgrass from taking over your lawn.
- Step 2 (Early April - Mid-May): The second visit involves another fertilizer treatment to provide additional nutrients and crabgrass control.
- Step 3 (Late May - Early June): During this visit, our team will apply fertilizer and weed control. An optional preventative grub control treatment is also applied at this time to stop newly hatched grubs before they damage your turf.
- Step 4 (Early June - Mid-July): This early summer visit includes fertilizer and weed control applications to help your grass get stronger for the summer heat. A grub control treatment will also be applied during this time.
- Step 5 (Early July - Mid-August): The fifth visit includes another round of fertilizer and weed control treatments. Your lawn will also receive a grub control treatment if it is infested with grubs.
- Step 6 (August): The next visit is in August for fertilizer and weed control treatments.
- Step 7 (Mid-September - Early October): During our last visit of the year, your lawn will receive one more round of fertilizer and weed control to help it prepare for winter dormancy.
Lawn Fertilization Treatments Are Pet-Safe After They've Dried
At Good Guys Lawn Care, we understand that your pets are a part of your family. That's why we make sure to only use pet-safe products when fertilizing your lawn. After applying the fertilizer treatment, make sure you wait 24 hours before letting your pets use your lawn again! During this waiting period, we recommend keeping your pets indoors to prevent them from coming into contact with the fertilizer. Doing so ensures they don't ingest the product and allows the fertilizer to work effectively.
